From there the search is the same — isolate sections, test pressure, and listen along the runs until the source is pinned down.
What should I do while water is running somewhere I cannot find?

Leave the wet material alone rather than opening it up looking for the source — the search works better on an undisturbed wall, and the damp pattern is itself evidence. If water has reached anything electrical, cut the power to that circuit first.
